An unnamed Chinese Super League club has offered Real Madrid £250m to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. This news was confirmed by the player's agent, Jorge Mendez, in an interview with Sky Sports in Italy.
The speedy winger has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu to join rich clubs such as PSG, Man City or his former side Man United. But despite the huge offers, Mendes revealed that the Portugal international had no intentions of leaving the European Champions.
The unidentified Chinese club is also reportedly willing to pay CR7 £86m per year, something that could be irresitable to most footballers. China is fast-becoming a global football powerhouse and a destination for many superstars, most recently Carlos Tevez who joined Shanghai Shenhua for a record-breaking deal..jpg)
The Argentine will reportedly earn £650,000 a week, a figure that makes him the higest paid footballer in the world. About the interest from China, Mendez told Sky;
"From China, they've offered 300m Euros to Real Madrid and more than 100m per year to the player,” Mendes said. "But money is not everything. Real Madrid is his life. Cristiano is happy at Real Madrid and it is impossible to go to China.”
However, it is understood that the ex-Man Utd man is set to snub the offer from China as he is expected to end his career at the Santiago Bernabeu. He said in June:
“I am going to retire at Real Madrid at more than 40 years of age. I am very happy here.”
