The Spanish center back also praised Cristiano Ronaldo as the driving force inside Real Madrid's locker room, backing his options to win this year's Ballon D'Or.

Following his late goal against Barcelona, Sergio Ramos downplayed all rumors about making fun of his opponents after snatching a point away from Camp Nou. In fact, his curious "phone call" celebration was dedicated to one person: his son.

"I dedicated that goal to my son. I'd promised him I'd call if I scored, and after such a long time away from the pitch due to an injury, it's always nice to vindicate yourself with a goal. Anyway, I'll always have that pic somewhere in my den to look at it," Ramos stated.

The gesture became viral and generated a ton of memes.

The talented center back took the opportunity to support his team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese player has been linked with an illegal task setup,  but Los Blancos' captain believes this information has been leaked to hurt the club.

"Those are private issues. I've always discussed all subjects with Cristiano, and I'm going to keep those talks to myself. I don't know if it's true or false, but I do know that the information was conveniently leaked when we had a big game coming up. Maybe they were trying to destabilize us, but fortunately, it didn't work," the player added.

Before the press conference concluded, Ramos referred to Zinedine Zidane's stint as coach. The Spaniard had nothing but praises for the French boss, and while putting him up on a pedestal, he took a jibe at former Los Blancos' manager Rafa Benítez.

"He's got that magic that dazzled us as a player and now as a coach. He turned this team around, the feeling inside the locker room got better, and it was all because of him, because of his sympathy and work ethic. We're all very happy to have him as the leader of this 'ship'," Ramos concluded.
