Should Pep Guardiola manage to beat Chelsea this Saturday, he will find himself in rare company. To date, the only other Manchester City manager to beat the Blues (since the start of the actual Premier League) since Roberto Mancini did so in the 2009/2010 term. As of now, he's the only one out of City's past ten managers in the Premier League era to achieve this.
With the exception of Vincent Kompany and Fabian Delph, Guardiola will have a full-strength squad available for selection. Key man Sergio Aguero currently is joint-tied on top of the scoring charts with Diego Costa and has chipped in with ten goals thus far. Despite his prior exile, Yaya Toure could again receive a spot in the starting XI. The Ivorian has featured in City's last two games and chipped in with a brace during their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Chelsea
Meanwhile, Chelsea have scored 29 goals - the exact same amount as upcoming opponents Manchester City. Only John Terry and Kurt Zouma are reportedly unavailable for the visitors, so Conte will have all of the players who comprise his first-choice starting XI available. The Blues have been in very impressive form as of late and in fact, have conceded just one goal during their current seven-match winning streak. That was during their 2-1 win over Tottenham in last weekend's highly anticipated London Derby.
Currently, the Blues sit one point above the chasing pack. They could extend this to four with a victory against Manchester City, which would mark their first win in five meetings. A loss, however, could see them slip back down into as low as fourth by the time this current round earns. Will they make it a lucky eight with an eighth straight win? Or will City burst their bubble?
