Napoli vs Benfica - Partenopei hope to maintain unbeaten start

Napoli

Napoli come into this game having bounced back from a scoreless draw against Genoa by beating Chievo 2-0 in Serie A action this past weekend. It was a special game for skipper Marek Hamsik as the Slovak international hit a personal milestone by netting his 100th goal for the club. The Partenopei are again making an attempt to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto and presently sit Maurizio Sarri's men have yet to lose a game across all competitions. This includes dating back to a friendly against Nice on August 1st, during which they breezed to a comfortable 3-0 win. In terms of the Champions League, Napoli earned a well-deserved road win by beating Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev 2-1 to sit on top of their quartet.

Sarri opted to field key striker Arkadiusz Milik as a sub in the team's last match, and the Polish international is expected to feature from the start in this game. With the exception of Vlad Chiriches, Napoli will have a full-strength squad available for tonight's fixture.

Benfica

As for Benfica, they arrive having won their last domestic fixture. However, the visitors are still dealing with injuries to Jardel and Rafa as well as Jonas and Raul Jimenez. As such, Rui Vitoria will be again relying on Kostas Mitroglu to spearhead their attack. Having had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Beskitas, they will be hoping to earn a much needed win this evening. Yet, their poor away record in this competition is a major concern, and that, coupled with injuries and Napoli's solid home form, will make earning all three points a very tough task.
