In an age where sportsmanship appears to be headed for extinction, where rivals troll one other on Twitter over defeats at every chance, a few Barca youngsters showed the world that all hope is not lost.
The Blaugrana’s under-12 side took on Omya in the final of the World Challenge Cup, with the Catalan side’s youngsters eventually coming out triumphant in the weekend tie.
The Barca U-12s’ opponents broke down in tears over losing after the final whistle, a not-so-surprising reaction given the players young age.
This is where the Barca youngsters showed their class and maturity. Instead exploding in celebration, the kids quickly turn to the teary Omya players, consolidating the defeated and hugging many of their heartbroken opponents.
