Analysis
Los Blaugrana have been hugely dominant over Sevilla in recent times. They beat Sampaoli’s men in the finals of the Copa Del Rey a few months back and also beat them in the European Super Cup last year. Having already lost to Real Madrid in the European Super Cup this year and trailing Barca by two goals in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, it is highly unlikely that Sevilla will engineer a win here.
Lionel Messi, in particular, had an impressive game despite the recent challenges that he faced on international duty with Argentina in the Copa America Centenario, not forgetting his endless legal battles. The 29-year-old provided a sublime assist to Munir, who slotted it in 10 minutes to full time. Even with the absence of Neymar, who is currently on international duty for Brazil at the Rio Olympics, Barcelona should cruise to victory on Thursday and lift their first silverware of the new season.
