Junior FC midfielder has joined Portuguese giants Benfica on a five year-deal.

Primeira Liga giants Benfica have confirmed signing Colombian midfielder Guillermo Leon Celis from Junior F.C. on a five-year deal. The 23-year-old made his debut for the Colombian national football team in 2016 and represented his country in the just-concluded Copa America Centenario in the USA.

The former Barranquilla man has not scored a goal for his country despite making six appearances but has been outstanding at the midfield. He has a total of 127 career appearances for both club and country, with six goals scored so far to his name. He is expected to boost the Eagles’ midfield ahead of the new season following the departure of their former star Renato Sanchez to Bayern Munich.
