The Cameroonian-born defender is set to make his UEFA Euro debut this Sunday with France, following Adil Rami's injury.

At long last, Luis Enrique will have more options to choose from at center back.

Earlier today, French newspaper L'Equipe and Spanish tabloid Mundo Deportivo revealed that Cameroonian-born center back Samuel Umtiti will join the La Liga champions this summer. Both sources indicate that Barcelona and Olympique Lyon agreed on a transfer fee of €30 million.

Umtiti can also help out in defense as a left back, providing more depth to Barcelona's aging defensive line. His signing will provide more options for coach Luis Enrique, considering Javier Mascherano and Jeremy Mathieu performed as Gerard Pique's partners during most of the recently concluded season.

The 22-year old defender played over 100 games with Olympique Lyon since his debut back in the 2011-2012 season.

According to L'Equipe, Barcelona had to pay an extra €10 million to sign the player, who was also being sought out by Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The player is set to start his first game with the French senior squad this Sunday, taking Adil Rami's place in Didier Deschamps' lineup. He will be unveiled as Barcelona's new center back once the European competition comes to a close.
