Following Dani Alves' departure from long-time club FC Barcelona, the Brazilian has spoken about his exit from the Catalan side.

After eight seasons and 23 titles, the Brazilian full-back says goodbye to the Camp Nou and revealed 'comfort' is the reason behind his choice to leave the Blaugranas.

Speaking at the post match-conference of Brazil's goalless draw against Ecuador, the 33-year-old explained his intentions to depart from Barca and reportedly join Italian side Juventus.

“I think that as people, we have to leave our comfort zones. For that reason, I’ve left a comfortable position. Barça are an incredible club, but I was in too much of a comfortable position there,” he explained in the mixed zone.

“I’m a person that when I feel comfortable, it means something is going wrong. What drives me are challenges, which [now] is to fight to make history in another place. I hope that things continue in the same manner, but now in another place.”

Although the talks with Juventus are advanced, Alves has not penned a deal with the Serie A champions.

“It’s not true that it is signed, but I’m about to sign. What is certain is that I won’t continue at Barcelona."

Alves will star for Brazil in the Copa America Centenario. He has made 90 appearances for the Green and Yellow. The Brazilians will face Haiti in their upcoming match on June 8.
