The Catalan giants started their business relationship with Nike back in 1998. Only Real Madrid's relationship with Adidas has lasted longer.

One of the most lucrative partnerships in the world of football has been extended for the next ten years. In a press release issued earlier today, Nike revealed the American sportswear company will continue working with Barcelona, in a deal that will guarantee 150 million euros per year for Los Blaugranas.

The partnership between the American company and the Catalan giants began back in 1998, and with this contract extension, their relationship will be extended for 28 years.

Both parties revealed their satisfaction once the deal was confirmed. The American company issued a press release, in which they shared the reasons why they chose to extend their current deal with los Culés which expired in 2018.

"FC Barcelona is one of football's greatest clubs, inspiring millions of sports fans across the globe, and we are extremely proud to continue our partnership together," the press release states."Our deep relationship with FC Barcelona extends Nike's leadership position in football and we are excited by the opportunity to further grow the world's most global sport."

These are rumored to be Barcelona's kits for the upcoming season.

Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu briefly explained what this deal means for his club.

"We are excited by this new agreement and are confident we will be able to celebrate continued sporting successes together," Bartomeu added.

Los Culés will play the 2015-2016 Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on Sunday, hoping to win their second major trophy this season.
