Germany boss Joachim Low has released the provisional squad that will represent the country in the upcoming Euro 2016 tournament to be held in France. The squad looked relatively fine, but the inclusion of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Podolski did not go down well with some fans of the Nationalelf. Here is the full squad:

Bastian, who captains the European giants, is currently out due to a knee injury sustained while on international duty with Germany ahead of their friendly against England back in March. Following the injury, the legendary midfielder was ruled out for the rest of the Premier League season, and openly admitted that it would be difficult for him to feature in Euro 2016.
However, to the surprise of many fans, the former Bayern Munich star was included in Low’s provisional squad for the Euro’s despite the uncertain nature of his injury. The 31-year-old has made 114 appearances for his national team and scored 23 goals. He may have been selected due to his leadership skills and influence, but that was not a convincing excuse as some fans explained:
To be honest, Bastian Schweinsteiger could be missing a foot and he’d still probably make the Germany squad.

Germany are waiting as long as possible in the hope they can find any excuse to call up Schweinsteiger

Schweinsteiger ain't played for us for months but is in the Germany Euro squad

Now, the next victim of the Twitter roasting session was Lukas Podolski, who has made 127 appearances for Germany and scored 48 goals. The Galatasaray forward has scored 12 goals in 27 appearances for the Turkish giants this season, but still, some fans believe that he does not deserve a place in the squad due to his declining form and probably the age factor (30). Here are some of the reactions:

Podolski presumably included for selfies and banter.

Casillas, Podolski (and Schweinsteiger) could die, they still would get called up for their national teams.

How is Lukas Podolski still getting in Germany squads?!

Is Low aware Schweinsteiger and Podolski are both very bad at football now?

Ah, Lukas Podolski. The ultimate international footballer. Comes out of hibernation every 2 years.
