Chelsea captain John Terry seems to have played his last game for the Blues today when they visited the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland. Guus Hiddink’s men went down 3-2 in a thrilling match that saw the hosts move an inch closer to surviving relegation.
Terry was sent off for the second bookable offense, which was his 7th red-card in his Chelsea career.

With only one game remaining to the end of the season, the suspended captain is set to miss the final game against league Champions Leicester City at the Stamford Bridge. The game was supposed to give the Englishman the perfect platform to say goodbye to fans of the West London club but as things stand, he could bid the fans goodbye from the stands.

The Blues have reportedly refused to offer the 35-yer-old a new contract, and several reports have linked him with move to the MLS where he could link up with former Chelsea great Frank Lampard who plies his trade for New York City FC.
