From Porto's perspective, Saturday's clash with Sporting CP is a game best described as a "dead rubber". Whether the Dragons win, lose, or draw, they will finish the 2015/2016 Primeira Liga campaign in third place. However, as it's a huge derby match against a bitter rival, they naturally will want to pick up all three points - which interestingly enough, will make it easier for yet another rival, Benfica, to clinch the league title at the end of this season.
After suffering two back to back defeats, Porto will be coming into this match having finally rebounded with two wins on the trot to bolster their confidence. Meanwhile, Sporting CP are on the cusp of winning their first domestic title in over a decade. It is no surprise that the Lions, now under the guidance of Jorge Jesus, have had one of their most successful campaigns in recent times. After all, the ex-Benfica boss is viewed as the most decorated Portuguese tactician in the business today and now is hoping to establish the same dominance with yet another one of Portuguese football's "Big three" institutions.
The visiting side will have no key players unavailable due to suspension or injury, so Jorge Jesus can select his strongest starting XI for this must-win match. Porto could be missing both Bueno and Marcelo as a result of injury for this match.
