The Blaugrana are hoping their Albiceleste duo will come out of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier unscathed for Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid.

The 2018 World Cup qualifiers currently underway in South America is headed for a break after Tuesday’s round of fixtures, with the 2014 runners-up Argentina set to host Bolivia in the last tie of this recent international break.

After the clash with Julio César Baldivieso’s crew, it’s off to Camp Nou for La Albiceleste captain Lionel Messi and fellow Barca team-mate Javier Mascherano, as the Argentine duo will be eager to start preparation for the highly anticipated Clasico clash on April 2.

However, according to Marca, there are fears in the Blaugrana camp over the fitness of the two aforementioned players ahead of Saturday’s run-in with Real Madrid.

As written by the Spanish media outlet, there are worries over the condition of Tuesday’s match venue, with the game being held at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium.

The match had been moved to the stadium in Cordoba several months back, a decision which was widely welcomed; however, the pitch has been left in terrible condition after Maná and Iron Maiden concerts were held there.

As per Marca, Raúl Steinberg of the Argentine Football Federation admitted that the venue "will not be 100%" for the Bolivia tie, with Luis Enrique hoping Messi and Mascherano escape damage despite Steinberg’s claims that "it'll be fine".

The Catalan giants will be keeping a close eye on La Albiceleste’s game, as the Liga BBVA leaders hope to welcome their Argentine aces fit and ready for action for their all-important meeting with Zinedine Zidane’s boys.
