Fan-favorite Nicklas Bendtner stole the headlines once more, but he did it for all the wrong reasons...as usual.
Reports by German newspaper Bild revealed that the former Arsenal striker, currently playing for Wolfsburg, had been fined for breaching the team's discipline. Later, the Danish footballer clarified what he'd done this time to get on the team's nerves yet again.
"I just slept in and didn't hear my alarm, it's my mistake," Bendtner told the publication.
Bendtner will have to pay a €2,250 fine after his latest mistake, but this is not the first time he has been surrounded by controversy in the ongoing season. A few weeks back, the club fined him for showing up to the team's training sessions driving a Mercedes Benz, having Volkswagen as the club's main sponsor.
Coach Dieter Hecking, who has dropped Bendtner from the past six games, spoke about the matter during a press conference.
"This is not tolerable, any wrongdoing is always going to attract consequences," the coach stated.
Wolfsburg's rules stipulate that all players who show up late to their training sessions will have to pay 50 euros for being just a minute late. That's quite an expensive mistake for the Danish player
