With the rumor mill working overtime, Zinedine Zidane added more fuel to those who can't see him coaching Real Madrid after the end of the season.
During Saturday's pre-match press conference, "Zizou" refused to talk about potential signings for the 2016-2017 season, given that he still doesn't know if he will remain as Real Madrid's boss.
"I can't tell you anything about it, since I don't know if I will still have a job this summer. We'll see how this season ends up and we'll take it from there. There are a lot of rumors going around, but I'm trying to keep my head focused on our next game," Zidane told the press.
Later, the French manager spoke about a couple of issues regarding his players and their respective National Teams. First off, Zidane referred to Marcelo's absence from Brazil's squad for the next international break, following Dunga's claims about having spoken with Madrid's execs that were worried about the left back's health.
"I'm not going to start any controversy about whether he should be called up or not, but no one from Brazil's team spoke to us, that's a lie. Marcelo is fine, and he wants to play for us and for his country," Zidane replied.
Finally, Zidane shared his views about Karim Benzema, who could return to the French National Team after a court allowed him to be around Mathieu Valbuena, even with their blackmail trial still going on. The striker has joined the team's training sessions, and even if he's not fit for Sunday's game, Zidane feels his compatriot is highly motivated after this week.
"He's back with the team, it's always good to have him around. We intend to have him play for us next week, and even if that subject had him a little worried, we've talked about it and I'm sure it's just a matter of time for it to be sorted out," the coach concluded.
The cub revealed the 19-man squad that will make the trip to Las Palmas, and some big names were not included in it.
