Barcelona forward Luis Suarez has won the Top Ibero-American player in La Liga, as confirmed by the club’s official website. The award was presented to the former Liverpool man by Spain’s EFE news agency. The Uruguay international has scored 41 goals for The Blaugrana this season in all competitions and is widely seen as the deadliest number 9 in the world right now.
Speaking during the award-presentation ceremony, he said:
"I am happy to help the team because that's what is most important. We don't compete against each other internally. Instead we enjoy the good individual moments. An award such as this is always welcome, but we are focused on group success.’’
The 29-year-old also explained why the Spanish giants are on great form this season, having gone 34 matches unbeaten so far. He mentioned that it all goes down to the good relationship that he has with not only Messi and Neymar, but also the rest of the teammates at Nou Camp.
Interestingly, he added that Barca players do not look at statistics or numbers when they play their games and that makes them successful. Speaking about his experience since joining the La Liga defending champions, he added that he was impressed by the humility of his new teammates. He claimed that despite winning almost every title both locally and internationally, they still made him feel special and part of the team.
Once again, he did not fail to mention the power of Lionel Messi’s left leg, something that he has praised countless times.

Since joining Barcelona from Liverpool, he has won a total of five major tiles, which include La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
