Arsene Wenger has received a transfer request from one of the most promising talents from Africa.

Ogada Michael Olunga may not be famous at the international level, but in East Africa, the 19-year-old is a trademark name.

He is, in fact, the most lethal forward in the Kenyan soil having scored 19 league goals for SportPesa Premier League giants Gor Mahia last season. The youngster has attracted the interest of various European clubs, but it seems his eyes is fixed on joining the Premier League, precisely Arsenal.

He then scored his first goal for the national team against African giants Zambia during their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Nyayo National Stadium. Despite going down 2-1 to the Chipolopolo, Olunga was a constant threat to their opponent’s defenders.

The product of Upper Hill School began his career with Liberty Sports Academy in the Nairobi County League, and scored 30 goals in 2013 to steer his side to win the title unbeaten. He repeated the same fete with Gor Mahia in 2015, when he emerged the top scorer with 19 goals as his new side, famously known as K’Ogalo, clinched the title unbeaten.

If the Gunners will accept his transfer request, he could join his national team-mate Victor Wanyama, who plays for Southampton FC in the Premier League. Arsene Wenger is also said to have a strong interest in the bulky Saints midfielder, and he could be on his way out of the St. Mary’s Stadium this summer. Victor Wanyama in action for The SaintsCould the Kenyan youngster provide more attacking power for the Gunners? That would only depend on Wenger’s decision if he gets the chance to watch the video message that has been doing rounds on social media. Given the fact that the 66-year-old has a solid history of giving the youth a chance, it would not be a surprise to many if he considers Olunga’s request.
