Thomas Tuchel's side will try to make the most out of the home-field advantage when they host Porto, one of the teams eliminated in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

In what could be the most exciting matchup in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32, Borussia Dortmund will try to get a comfortable lead when they host dangerous FC Porto at Signal Iduna Park. Thomas Tuchel's side made it to the tournament's knockout stage as Group C runners up, while Porto will make a run for their third Europa League title ever.

The yellow-and-black side hasn't lost a single game in all competitions in 2016, while Porto needed to remove Julen Lopetegui from the coaching seat, giving José Peseiro the oppotunity to bring the Dragons back to the top spot of their league.

Borussia Dortmund

Thomas Tuchel's side gets to this match in high spirits, following their victories against Stuttgart and Hannover last week. While Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender will not be available for this game, Ilkay Gundogan and goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller have been struggling with some sort of viral disease, which could prevent them from playing.

On the other hand, top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang overcame a minor injury problem and could be set to start up front for the Revolutionär.

FC Porto

Things seemed to be on a roll for FC Porto back in November, leading both their domestic league and their UEFA Champions League group. Nevertheless, Julen Lopetegui's side hit a speed bump and ended up losing the top spot in their country and being eliminated from the UCL.With Lopetegui out, Jose Peseiro's crew managed to win a crucial match last weekend against Benfica, keeping their chances of domestic silverware alive.

This will be the first UEFA Europa League match for legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who will try to show that his best days haven't passed. Aside from Casillas, Porto's supporters hope their Mexican trio can lead them to a good start in the tournament, as defender Miguel Layún has proven to be quite useful for the Dragons, setting up 14 goals in all competitions with his key crosses and assists.

Head to head

This will be the first meeting ever between Borussia Dortmund and FC Porto. Borussia Dortmund has played 6 games against Portuguese teams, winning three and losing three. On the other hand, FC Porto has won 12 out of their 29 matchups against German sides, including a 2-1 win against Bayern Munich in the 1987 European Champions Cup final.
