According to the British tabloid, the English defender has been “sounded out” by Al Arabi, where he'd join another Blues legend.

Chelsea fans may be dreading the thought, but the 2015-16 campaign could prove to be John Terry’s last season with the Blues, having revealed that the club have not offered him a new deal after spending 21 years with the London side.

The English center-back will be out of contract come this summer, with the player into the last few months of his deal, announcing after the 5-1 FA Cup win over MK Dons that he will leave England should his contract not be renewed.

Although the London giants announced shortly afterwards that the 35-year-old may still have a future at Stamford Bridge, British tabloid The Mirror report that the retired Three Lions international could follow the recent trend and spend the final days of what has been an illustrious career in Qatar.

As written by John Cross, a “huge pay” has been tabled for the Chelsea legend’s services by Qatari side Al Arabi, where another Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola is manager, though the exact figures were not mentioned.

Terry has been the target of interest from the Major League Soccer, a franchise which has tremendously grown in popularity and appeal after the likes of Thierry Henry and David Beckham joined, and where former English Premier League stars Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole currently ply their trade.

Nonetheless, Zola is confident that his connection with the Chelsea captain could prove the deciding factor in luring the Englishman to the 2022 World Cup host nation, where he would join Barca legend and current Al Sadd ace Xavi.

The Blues skipper is free to enter negotiations with other clubs, but the Chelsea faithful look to intervene, with one supporter starting a petition to force the reigning league champions to hand Terry a new contract.

The petition to get John Terry a new Chelsea contract has over 5,000 supporters, as of Tuesday afternoon
