German giants Bayern Munich cruised past Hoffenheim thanks to a brace from the lethal Robert Lewandowski. Bayern’s win now puts them eight-points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table.
The Poland international has now scored 19 goals for the Bavarians to mark their sixth successive win in all competitions. Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and Xabi Alonso all lost numerous chances to increase the goal tally for the Bundesliga defending champions. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena to join Spanish giants Real Madrid or Manchester United in the summer. His consistency in front of goal in the past seasons for Pep Guardiola’s men has earned him praises on social media after scoring 27 goals in 29 games for the German side in all competitions:
