Siniša Mihajlović's side will be coming into this game having had to settle for a draw with Empoli in their last fixture. Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini's men started the season off brightly, only to have hit a rough patch as of late. This has seen the Nerazzurri tumble down to fourth in the table and they have not won a match since edging out Empoli 1-0 on the first matchday of 2016. Despite showing some signs of improvement - namely defeating Napoli in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals - they were brought back down to earth after suffering a heavy 3-0 loss to Juventus, meaning that they have scored just three goals in their last four league fixtures (not including an auto-goal from Atalanta during a 1-1 draw).
Having suffered yet another stalemate against Serie A debutants Carpi, Inter will need to get back to winning ways if they want to make sure that Juventus and Napoli do not slip too far ahead in the Scudetto race. Five points in their last five games certainly have fans concerned about the team, who were looking like the Inter of earlier seasons when they were sitting on top of the league table and Nerazzurri supporters will hope to see an improved performance from the squad on Sunday evening.
