The former first-team doctor failed to reach a settlement with her former employers, prompting a full trial starting this summer. José Mourinho might be force to present evidence.

The "Carneiro-gate" is far from over for Chelsea and José Mourinho. Just when the former first-team doctor and the club were getting closer to reaching a settlement, the physician's lawyers revealed their client failed to reach an agreement, forcing the case to be solved next summer.

The former first-team doctor is claiming constructive dismissal and sex discrimination against Chelsea after she was exiled from her pitch-side duties following a public row with Jose Mourinho, who stated in a press conference the doctor was too "naive" to perform her duties on the pitch.

Carneiro was fired by Chelsea during the last days of September, once José Mourinho was cleared of using sexist language against her. The court has fixed a date in June to solve the matter, following a three-hour hearing in which the doctor failed to reach a settlement.

Carneiro(right) and Jon Fearn rushed to the pitch to aid Eden Hazard, an action that was harshly criticized by Mourinho in the post-match press conference.

The former first-team doctor wants to be reinstated as the club's top physician, as her lawyers seek to collect damages from Mourinho for sex discrimination and a personal injury compensation from the club.

While the court has stated the former Blues' boss will not have to appear in court, the Portuguese manager could be force to present evidence to deny Carneiro's claims against him. Nevertheless, Mourinho would only face a £1,000 fine if he decides not to show up.
