With the Colombian sensation garnering interest from the EPL, this 25-year-old ace could be Real Madrid's for €45m.

A transfer market is not a transfer market without Real Madrid spending big to bolster their already star-studded squad, and the upcoming January window is no exception.

Los Blancos sit in third, and are undoubtedly in the mix for the Liga BBVA title race, but their form has faltered on several occasions, this season, leading to the belief that additions are required.

In comes Roma superstar Miralem Pjanic, a name previously linked with the 10-time Champions League winners. According to MARCA, Rafael Benitez’s side are keen on luring the Bosnian ace to the Bernabeu.

However, they will have to beat Barcelona and Bayern Munich to the 25-year-old. However, the player himself has assured Les Merengues that they are his first-choice should he depart from Stadio Olimpico.

Despite this, it is a first come, first served issue regarding Pjanic, with the first team to meet the player’s €45m buyout clause expected to land the former Lyon ace, though Football Italia insist the Giallorossi are unlikely to sell until next summer.

Nonetheless, Real Madrid are believed to have made contact with the player’s father, who acts as his agent, with president Florentino Perez readying his cheque book in order to secure Pjanic’s services.

Although little expected the Madrid giants to make the Roma midfielder target number 1 in the upcoming January transfer window, it comes as little surprise that Los Blancos are actively searching for recruits, with a number of player rumored to be headed for the Bernabeu door.

Colombian sensation James Rodriguez, having fallen out with boss Rafael Benitez, is a target of English giants Man United, with the Red Devils rumored to be ready to splash in excess of the £71m fee Real Madrid paid.

Furthermore, Spanish playmaker Isco, a man who has found playing time hard to come by, is being linked with Man City.
