The Spanish giants issued a press release, revealing the court's decision regarding their case. They will cease to appeal and therefore accept their elimination from the tournament.

After losing two appeals, Real Madrid is done with their defense regarding the Denis Cheryshev case. Los Blancos issued a press release to inform their fans they will not be appealing the latest court ruling, therefore they accept their elimination from the 2015-2016 Copa del Rey.

During the first leg of their knockout series against Segunda B side Cádiz, a TV show revealed that Denis Cheryshev should not be able to play, since he had a one match ban pending from the tournament's previous edition. The situation turned even more complicated after Cheryshev scored the first goal against the Andalucian side, leading Benitez's crew to a 3-1 win. The Russian footballer was substituted by coach Rafa Benítez at halftime, but it was too late for them to be forgiven, and despite all of Florentino Perez's claims of innocence, the board expelled Real Madrid and the club accepted their decision today.

Here's Real Madrid's statement in full.

"The Administrative Court of Sport has dismissed the injunction requested by Real Madrid C. F. concerning the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary decisions in relation to the Copa del Rey round of 32 first-leg tie.

The club respects the court's decision, which means the return leg cannot be played on the intended date.

Real Madrid C. F. will immediately proceed to refund the full amount for any tickets purchased for said match," can be read in the press release.

After winning the 2013-2014 edition, Real Madrid was eliminated during the Quarter-final stage by Atletico Madrid, being this the second straight tournament they will not be able to fight for the championship.
