The dynamic trio has scored 121 goals in 2015. The final shortlist will be announced on November 30th by FIFA.

Lionel Messi is back and just as the world expected, more goals came with it. In the 6-1 victory of Barcelona over Roma in the Champions League, la Pulga added two more goals to his personal count and his first two goals since getting injured back in September. Now, he is on his way for another Ballon d'Or nomination.

This time, there is a chance that the shortlist includes some new faces, but two that are really familiar for the Argentian astro. Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr. could be the othe two candidates that FIFA calls to show up in Switzerland on January 10 to find out who will be the 2016 Ballon d'Or winner.

Suárez Wants In

Messi's brace at the Camp Nou was joined by two more goals of Luis Suárez, who is making a strong case  to be considered to compete against Leo in the final round of the nomination for one of soccer's most prestigious awards.

It's been aroudn one year since Luis Suárez got his debut with Barcelona and it was playing against Real Madrid. While he was not able to score last year, in the recent El Clasico, Suarez was the one to open Barcelona's way to a 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

El Pistolero is showing off the guns

In La Liga, the Uruguayan striker has scored 11 goals and is only one behind his teammate Neymar Jr. in the hunt for the Pichichi. In the Champions league, he is currently tied with other four players as the leading scorers with five. CR7 is one of them. Last year he finished with 25 goals in 43 games, all competitions included.

Neymar Jr. Also Interested

The current leading scorer in La Liga made sure that Messi should not have worried about missing a few games. He may still not be the leader in the dressing room like Messi, but he had the skills on the field that made him shine during La Pulga's absence.

Eight of his 12 goals in La Liga came during the time that Messi was not playing. He has played as a left wing with Messi in and even while the Argentinian player was absent. He also got his name into the list of players that destroyed Madrid this past Saturday, but he could not continue his streak against Roma in the UCL.

Someone with talent recognizes talent when he sees it

Neymar has struggled more with scoring in the European competition. After five games, the 23-year-old player has only two goals and trails Suárez, while he is even with Messi in the list of top goal-scorers in the Champions League. Messi has only played in two of the five games so far this season.

Wishful Thinking?

"I hope that it can happen, but it's not something that we are going to obsess over. I'm sure Ney and Luis think the same way—if that is the way it turns out [the three of them as Ballon d'Or finalists] then great and if not it doesn't matter."

Those were the words of Lionel Messi aboyt the possibilities of being joined by Neymar and Suárez as the finalits for the Ballon d'Or 2016. In a year where the MSN has broken any kind of records and won almost every title along the way, it does not sound like a crazy idea to have all three in the final list.

Maybe they have a point

That will be decided this next Monday, November 30 and the winner will be announced on January 10. For many years, it has been a close race between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but this time, the Portuguese striker is not going through a streak that could make him even a candidate for the prestigious award.

"We really enjoy ourselves, the three of us," Suarez claimed. "We are players who understand each other, and we just think in the good of the team. We leave aside our personal attitudes, and just think about the team."

The Uruguayan and the Brazilian stars have consistently claimed that there is no competition to see who the best one of the three is, since for them it is clear that La Pulga is still ahead of the competition. With a great comeback against Roma, Messi wants to make sure his name is called as the winner next year.

The MSN should not be compared to the BBC
