The Costa Rican goalkeeper dismissed any rumors about a complicated relationship between the players and coach Rafa Benitez

Perhaps Real Madrid's slump is all about attitude. According to shot stopper Keylor Navas, not everyone contributes as they should when they are on the pitch, making it harder to provide the results their fans want. Speaking during the pre-match press conference for their UCL clash against Shakhtar, the Central American goalie shared his thoughts about how to get out of their current two-game losing streak.

"Everyone in the team needs to run a bit more, make a bigger effort. This is a team, we can't be talking about someone running more or less than the rest. I trust my team-mates, and if we work together, we will show the needed strength to make things work. We have to go out there and think about nothing else than winning three points, without losing our essence as a team," Navas stated.

The shot stopper conceded four goals against Barcelona on Saturday. He had only given away three goals in the other games of the season.

The player refused to talk about what was said inside the team's locker room following their defeat against Los Blaugranas. Instead, Navas went on and voiced the squad's support for Rafa Benitez, the under-fire Real Madrid boss.

"We can't ignore that we had a disappointing game last Saturday, but it's not my job to talk about what we discussed with our coach. We all know there are things we have to do better, everyone is committed to the team's success and with the boss. That's how everyone in the squad thinks," the goalie added.

Navas, who has kept four clean sheets in the European tournament, dismissed the idea about handing tomorrow's game before it starts, since Shakhtar could surprise them if they don't take the Ukrainian team seriously.

"We are expecting them to go out there and try to hurt us. We have to be smart and put up a good performance. We have already secured our place in the next round, but facing a team with interesting players could help us find the drive we lost in the past games," Navas concluded.
