Nevertheless, the Ivory Coast striker believes The Special One can turn things around for The Blues this season, despite already losing seven games this year.

Didier Drogba revealed there's a certain element of truth behind Mourinho's "third-year curse", as he detailed how players seem to get tired of the same speech.

According to the Ivory Coast striker, Mourinho's success rate goes down during the third season with the same club, because his players can't keep up with his demands, even if they were capable of fulfilling his wishes prior to that.

"We tried to listen, we did the best we could do, but we lost some things in the process that made us special. If you watch closely, all the problems in his clubs start emerging after three years. I lived every step of the way during one of those three-year stints," Drogba stated.

The Ivory Coast striker scored 164 goals in all competitions with the Blues, which were good enough to become the team's fourth all-time top scorer.

Nevertheless, Drogba feels that he will be able to turn things around if there are players that, like him, are willing to listen to what he has to say.

"When a new manager signs with a new club, he says he will try to win. Mourinho is different. When he goes into the team's locker room he states 'I'm here to win'. That sort of message is strong, and once he gets into your head, his speech follows you wherever you go. That's his influence to his players," Drogba concluded.

Drogba won 14 titles with Chelsea, including eight under Mourinho's orders.
