It seems Cristiano Ronaldo is not taking chances when it comes to El Clasico.

The Real Madrid forward has been training vigorously ahead of the highly-anticipated match that kicks off on November 21, 2015. Despite being an official off-day at the club, the Los Blancos legendary winger was spotted in training all by himself.

Portugal head coach Fernando Santos had rested the 30-year-old to give him time to concentrate on El Clasico despite the series of international friendly matches lined up for his come country. Ronaldo wants to be in top form, especially after the news that his rival Lionel Messi could make a grand return to the weekend derby.

Sources close to Barcelona’s training camp reveal that Messi wants to make a surprise comeback against their rivals, an issue that could have inspired Ronaldo’s quest for top fitness even as his teammates enjoy their off-day. Saturday’s battle will not only be inspired by the need for total points, but also the bragging rights between the two clubs. Other Real Madrid players fighting to pass a late fitness test include Karim Benzema, Keylor Navas, Dani Carvajal and Marcelo.
