Sergio Ramos will play La Liga's big game through pain, and he will decide after the match if he undergoes a surgery to correct a shoulder injury.

Despite reports that suggested Sergio Ramos would not be available to play El Clásico, the player has decided he will take painkillers to perform against Los Blaugranas at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in ten days.

Ramos underwent a battery of tests on his shoulder yesterday, and even though his left shoulder shows clear signs of being damaged, he is not happy with the thought of sitting on the sidelines as Los Blancos face their most-hated opponent. Therefore, he will once again play through pain, just like he did against Atletico Madrid last month, and help out Rafa Benitez's team, which has been hit hard by injuries.

The Spanish defender seemed to be OK before Sunday's game against Sevilla, but a bad falling technique while performing a bicycle kick forced him off the pitch.

Nevertheless, Ramos knows he should take care of his shoulder, and he doesn't rule out the possibility of a surgery. The player is open to the procedure, but he will not allow doctors to perform it until after the game. Ramos' recovery after a surgery would keep him away from the pitch for at least two months, but if he keeps postponing it, the shoulder could suffer severe damage and risk his performance in France's Euro 2016 tournament.
