Salary demands have reportedly obstructed Wesley Sneijder’s contract extension with Inter Milan. Now the player’s agent claims that this could see Wes reuniting with Mourinho at Real Madrid.
The contract of the Dutch midfielder is set to expire in about three years’ time. Inter Milan are keen to extend it until 2015, but Sneijder’s status as one of the world’s best players, his request for more money, and his bond with former Inter coach Jose Mourinho have twisted things for the Nerazzurri.

Soren Lerby, Wesley Sneijder’s agent, explained matters to Goal.com Netherlands as he stated:

“Negotations have broken off. They’ll resume when Inter open the door again to continue. Wesley has become very popular throughout Europe after the World Cup.

“But, he has an obligation to Inter and he was flattered by Massimo Morratti’s words which claimed that he [Sneijder] was the leader for years to come.

“Wesley had the prospect of a great salary, but Inter have gone back on their previous words.”

Agent Soren Lerby then singled out Real Madrid as an option for the Dutch international. He declared as he kept explaining:

“Inter Milan’s attitude gives him an uneasy feeling which is reinforced by the interest of Real Madrid. Everyone knows that Jose Mourinho and Wesley have a very special relationship.

“Madrid is a more serious option now, since Wesley has won three awards and reached the final of the World Cup with the Oranje.”

Will we see Wesley Sneijder play alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sami Khedira, Iker Casillas and co. anytime soon? Should a transfer occur for the Dutch midfielder, Inter Milan’s current manager – Rafael Benitez – may have to struggle to find a replacement. Perhaps, such a thing will make Kaka's transfer rumors from Real Madrid to Internazionale a bit more true...
