After La Liga officers stated Barcelona would be kicked out of the Spanish tournament if their region becomes independent, the Prime Minister of France revealed his country would gladly welcome los Blaugranas.

Once again, politics might be involved in the world of football, as Barcelona's performances in La Liga would cease if the province of Catalunya becomes a stand-alone country. During this summer's elections, groups keen on separating Catalunya from Spain won the majority of Congress votes, making Catalunya's Independence come closer than ever.

When the news broke out, La Liga's president Javier Tebas stated the club would be kicked out of the Spanish top flight, since the country's laws forbid foreign teams to participate in their domestic competitions, and Barcelona would qualify as a "foreign" team if the independent parties have it their way. Well, today, France's Primer Minister, Manuel Valls, stated that Barcelona would be welcome to play in Ligue 1, the country's top tier division.

Valls, a long-time Barcelona fan, assured there would be no problem with Los Blaugranas participating in their domestic tournament.

"Well, Monaco plays in Ligue 1, so we would be ok with it," Valls stated.

Last year, Los Blaugranas eliminated PSG in the UEFA Champions League.

The French Prime Minister revealed that his countrymen, well aware of his fanhood for Barcelona, seemed to be ok with the notion, since most of them share their thoughts about los Culés whenever they run into him on the street.

"I'm a football fan, and I'm also a Barça fanatic. Barça's history is not only related to football's history, but also with our history. My compatriots talk to me about it whenever they get the chance," Valls added.
