One of the most anticipated matchups in Group A will be celebrated this Wednesday, when Les Parisiens try to confirm their title hopes in the tournament when they face the most winning side in the Champions League history: Real Madrid

The two favorite teams to fight for Group A's supremacy will face each other on Wednesday, as Paris Saint Germain hosts Real Madrid at Parc des Princes. Both European giants get to this match with two victories, although Real Madrid currently lead the Group since they've scored one more goal than PSG.

Fans all over the world want to watch how Angel Di Maria meets against his former team-mates. "El Fideo" was key for Los Blancos' tenth Champions League title two in the 2013-2014 season, but his relationship with president Florentino Pérez ended up with hi departure to join Manchester United. Eighteen months later, Di Maria will try to lure three points away from his former side, while he faces one of his best friends on and off the pitch: Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paris Saint Germain

Laurent Blanc's side gets to this match with a six game unbeaten streak in all competitions, dropping points for the last time a month ago against Reims. Since then, PSG has outscored their opponents 14-2 with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also becoming the all-time scoring leader for Les Parisiens. For this game, coach Blanc will not have shot-stopper Kevin Trapp available, while David Luiz and Maro Verratti could be last-minute additions to the team's Starting XI.

Real Madrid

Rafa Benitez has slowly silenced his haters, leading La Liga with an almost perfect run. With Keylor Navas performing superbly for Los Blancos, the controversy about who was going to be the man between the sticks seems to be over, and now, the only thing Benitez has to deal with are the continuous injuries to some of his key performers. Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal will all miss the trip to Paris, while captain Sergio Ramos is expected to return to the team's lineup.

Head to head

Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid have played against each other four times in European tournaments, with PSG leading with a couple of wins, one draw and only one game lost. In each and every one of those games, PSG has been able to score against Los Blancos, although they haven't met under the current Champions League format.
