The French striker won't rush his recovery process. He considers PSG as a title contender for the Champions League trophy.

Karim Benzema dreams about traveling to his home country to play Paris Saint-Germain in the third group stage game of the Champions League. At the same time, he claims that there is no need to rush the recovery process and that only time will tell if he will be ready by Wednesday or not.

The game will be played at Parc des Princes. It is a venue that Benzema knows quite well as it was one of the places that saw him grow up as a player during his Olympique Lyon days and where he has played quite a few matches representing the national team.

"I'm doing everything in my power to come back as soon as possible. I'm working hard to be available to play in Wednesday's match in Paris, but I don't want to rush things," Benzema said about his chances to play after getting injured in a game representing France.

Benzema has someone to blame for his injury

The 27-year-old French striker has played in both games and already has a goal in his account. The other five that Madrid has scored in this competition have come from Cristiano Ronaldo's boots. Karim does not plan to leave the club anytime soon as claims to be happy with being a starter for the best team in the world.

There is a possibility for Benzema to play

"When people talk about me, I get the impression that anyone could have done everything I've achieved with Real Madrid," Benzema said as a response to those who downplay his role and history with the Merengues making him feel underrated.

Right now, after two games, both teams have six points. The goal differential gives Madrid a slight lead (+6, +5). Either team has received a goal so far this season. Benzema knows that their upcoming rival not only has potential to do well in the group stage but also in the tournament overall.

"They're a fast-rising team and are closing the gap on the best," Benzema claimed adding that PSG could be considered as a title contender.
