Coutinho and Henderson will not be able to play due to an injury. The Spurs are on a seven-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

It is hard to remember the last time there was so much expectation for a Tottenham vs Liverpool game at the start of the Premier League. The reason for this does not have much to do with what happens on the field, but mainly with someone on the Liverpool bench names Jurgen Klopp.

The German manager left Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season without really explaining why he left. After there were rumours that even linked him with Real Madrid, it was Liverpool who decided to sign the 48-year-old coach who has never been involved in the Premier League.

Klopp faces a tough challenge with Liverpool standing halfway through the table with 12 points after eight games. The team did not do as they were expected last season, ending in sixth place and out of Champions League possibilities.

With a weak start from Brendan Rodgers, Klopp seems like a good fit for the job. He has had very limited time to prepare such an important game for Liverpool and for his image as the new coach. Klopp will also not be able to count with players like Philip Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson.

It's been three Premier League games since Liverpool last won a game. It was a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield. After a couple of draws 1-1 against Sion and Everton, the team decided to cut ties with Rodgers before it was too late. The Northern Irish manager left the Reds with a record of three wins, three draws and two losses.

The team has done poorly on defence. In eight games, they have received ten goals and only scored eight. They will be facing an opponent with 11 goals in favor and seven against.

Tottenham has most of their hopes based on what Harry Kane can do. The team is optimistic about their chances since the game is being played at home and there is quite a number of absences in the roster managed by Klopp.

At the same time, Kane knows that the Liverpool players may want to impress their new coach, so it will be vital for the Spurs to expect the unexpected from many Liverpool players. It is a game in which the Reds want to become Klopp's go-to man and the Spurs want to keep moving up the table, as they are in eighth now.

The team has not lost since the opening game of the season, they also want to keep building on that streak. In 148 games between the two teams, Liverpool has won 68 and Tottenham 44. The other 36 matches ended in a draw. Last season, it was Liverpool which won both games with 3-2 and 0-3 scorelines.
