Los Merengues had the pressure of performing well after losing to AS Roma in their tournament presentation. Rafa's capability to coach a team like Real Madrid was questioned and many players did not seem too focused during training. Fortunately for him and for the fans, his team responded with a strong showing on Friday.
Karim Benzema opened the scoreboard 21 minutes into the game with a superb volley after a cross from Gareth Bale. Ronaldo's goal followed a great deep pass by Toni Kroos. Before halftime, Pepe scored the third for his team and Yaya Touré got his penalty kick just minutes later. Denis

Joe Hart had been the figure of Manchester City's first game against AS Roma, but couldn't save his team from Real Madrid's offensive power. All four of Madrid's shots on target ended in the back of the net. The team also had slightly better possession than their opponent (53%-47%).
