The German captain referred to his team-mate's situation, who has been rumored to be leaving the Bavarians after a series of problems with coach Pep Guardiola.

Following the team's victory over Inter Milan in a pre-season match today, captain Philipp Lahm referred to Thomas Müller's possible departure from Die Roten. The German captain feels that Manchester United could be a possible destination for the striker, mostly since he would re-join Bastian Schweinsteiger and former coach Louis Van Gaal.

"It’s not my decision. Things can happen very quickly in football. I certainly can’t provide any guarantee for Thomas Müller staying," Lahm stated.

Müller's future with the current German champions has been the subject of many rumors, since his relationship with coach Pep Guardiola seems to be harsh, to say the least. During last season's Champions League semi-final match against Barcelona, Müller got angry after being substituted when the team had conceded the first goal of the series, making gestures and complaining about Guardiola's decision. Earlier this month, Guardiola yelled Müller during a training session, reacting angrily to the player's display during an exercise.

Lahm, on the other hand, denied he was thinking about leaving the club where he has spent most of his professional career.

"I’m pleased that I’ve been able to spend practically all my career at home. It’s great to be in the same club for so long, that's not going to happen with me," Lahm added.

Finally, the 31-year old player referred to Bayern's chances of success after some key players left the team this summer.

"We’re still a top club. We’ve reached at least the semi-finals of the Champions League in recent years and we have a top team who would be playing at the top in any league. We certainly don’t need to have any fear," Lahm concluded.
