Barcelona was the team to rack up the most points with 38.042 this season. The rankings take into consideration the last five seasons.

Barcelona might have won a historic second treble in the history of European football but it is Real Madrid who still holds the lead in the latest UEFA rankings. According to the governing body of Europe's soccer, Real Madrid has done enough to be considered the best club of that federation over the last five years.

Barcelona was still the team to add the most points over the past season with 38.402. Real Madrid is second with 33.042 points. They were followed by Juventus who won a fourth consecutive Serie A title and came up short to their third UEFA Champions League title. Sevilla broke into Europe's five best. The back-to-back Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich follow their trail after failing to reach the Champions League final.

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid finish up the list of the best five teams in Europe in the last five seasons.

The runners-up of the Champions League are still outside of UEFA's top 10 and can be seen in 14th place with 95.102 points. Sevilla, who repeated as the Europa League champion landed further down the list with 80.499 points in 23rd place. Even Zenit, who was the runner-up in that tournament, ended up higher in the 15th spot.

It is important to know that the rankings do not take into consideration what was achieved in the domestic leagues. Only the results in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League affect such classification. They are updated after each round of European competition.
