After one of the most exciting seasons ever, the UEFA Champions League will name a new ruler between two of the greatest teams in the world: Barcelona, who arrives to this match as the favorite, and the underdog Juventus, a team that has what it takes to win it all in the European scene after more than a decade living in oblivion.
This could be a match for the ages, since it could give Juventus the chance to win a treble, something they have never done before. Barcelona is trying to complete the triple crown for the second time ever, after winning it all during the 2008-2009 season under coach Pep Guardiola. This time, coach Luis Enrique, another Blaugrana icon, will try to join Johan Cruyff, Frank Rijkaard and Pep as the only coaches to give Los Culés a continental title.

With the chance of winning their first European title in almost 19 years, the Bianconeri return to a Champions League final after 12 years. Juventus has lost three consecutive finals (against Dortmund, Real Madrid and AC Milan), and they will want to end that streak against the Spanish champions.

This game could also be the final game for two of the best midfielders of all time with their teams: Xavi Hernández and Andrea Pirlo. The player from Terrassa has stated he will be leaving Los Culés this summer, while "Il Professore" needs to decide his immediate future. The Italian veteran has struggled all year with injuries, but he has still shown his class whenever possible. Both players will want to add another Champions League trophy to their resume, with Xavi aiming for his fourth trophy, and Pirlo looking to bag his third piece of silverware.
