Ukraine has its faith installed in Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk's to make history and bring joy to a nation that is living in turbulent times. The team has had to take the long road to make it to Warsaw. Having to play all their home games 310 miles away from their actual home due to the military conflict taking place in the area.
They got into the Europa League by knocking Hajduk Split out of the competition in the playoffs round. The team managed to win 2-1 at home and secure

They finished second place in the group stage with seven points, behind Inter Milan which had 12. Despite losing three games, two wins and a draw allowed them to have enough points to reach the next round. They even received more goals (5) than the ones they scored (4).
In the Round of 32, they had the tough task of facing Olympiacos. In the first leg, they won 2-0 and finished with a 2-2 tie in the second leg. The 4-2 aggregate in their

In the Round of 16, they faced what seemed to be an even tougher competition. Ajax was signaled by many as a clear favorite in this matchup against the Ukranian side. Dnipro started by winning the first leg 1-0. That goal would make a difference in the second leg, where they lost 2-1, but with a 2-2 draw in the aggregate, allowed them to keep moving forward.
Next rival in line was Club Brugge from Belgium in the Quarter-Finals. The Ukranian team was able to hold a scoreless draw away from home in the first leg. In the decisive match, they only needed one goal from Yevhen Shakhov to make it to the semi-finals.
Nikola Kalinic is Dnipro's leading scorer with three goals in the tournament
Now Napoli was the only team standing between Dnipro and a ticket to play the final in Warsaw. Gonzalo Higuain was a big threat to the Ukranian side, but it was David Lopez who scored the first goal for the Italians. Seleznyov came in on the 80th minute and less than 120 seconds later, tied the first leg 1-1.
In the second leg, the same player, who now had come out as a starter, shocked Napoli and gave his team the right to be in Warsaw for the Europa League final. The team has won two European Cups (1975, 1986). No Ukranian team has lost a UEFA club competition final.
