He has been clear that he would like to stay for another season. There is a high possibility that the game against Getafe is his last one.

Carlo Ancelotti met with the press for what could be one last time as a Real Madrid manager ahead of Saturday's game against Getafe. Most of the questions were about his future with the club. At the end, the media members in attendance applauded the manager as he left the room, he just laughed.

Ancelotti has been the manager of the team since the last season, replacing Jose Mourinho. His performance as the coach of the team has been acceptable but not winning La Liga is something that could cost him his job. Besides that, he has won it all, from the Spanish Cup to the highly anticipated tenth Champions League title.

"There have been sad and happy times, but I may well have experienced the happiest moment in Real Madrid's history. I've given everything," Ancelotti claimed.

The manager still feels he has a shot at staying based on everything he has done for the team. The former Juventus manager is holding strong to his position until the club tells him otherwise in a meeting they expect to have by next Monday, once the season is completely over for Los Merengues.

"I haven't spoken to the club yet, nor has the club spoken to me. I'll continue to see myself as the Real Madrid coach until the club tells me otherwise."

More than the failure of finishing this season trophyless, Carletto looks back to 2014, a year in which they were unstoppable. Unfortunately, once 2015 began, the good results slowly vanished.

"My feeling is that I'm going to stay. The club is assessing things and I'm excited about the idea of staying because I like the club and the city".

Injuries played a negative role in the team's performance. Luca Modric was out and only got to play in 16 La Liga games this season. Sami Khedira was only seen in 11 games and disappeared from La Liga after the 4-0 loss against Atletico. James Rodriguez missed some key matchups and now Karim Benzema has spent most of his days either with the trainer or watching the games from the bench. He has been ruled out of the season finale.

The 55-year-old manager is happy where he is at. He feels the team has treated him well up to this point and that whatever happens will be beneficial for the club. His relationship with Florentino Perez is not in danger.

"I've always had a good relationship with him, but now he has to make an important decision," Ancelotti said. "I'll continue to have a relationship with him even if I leave".
