The Spanish manager has been linked during the past few hours to the Spanish capital giants, and some of the team's current players would be deciding their future based on the news.

Carlo Ancelotti's days as Real Madrid's boss are almost over, and the players are aware of that. Even if most of the team leaders fought hard to keep him with the team, apparently Florentino Perez has decided to sack the Italian manager after a trophy-less season. Rumors come and go, but the players have allegedly been told that Rafa Benitez will be taking over managerial duties with Los Blancos once he ends his contract with Napoli.

According to sources close to the players, Benitez would be unveiled next week as Real Madrid's new coach. The information was leaked to them so that each and everyone started searching for options to continue their careers, just in case Benitez decides to let go some of them.

Meanwhile, Benitez's agent denied his client has penned a deal with Real Madrid.

Last Tuesday, sources indicated German boss Jurgen Klopp had agreed to sign a three-year deal with Real Madrid, but Rafa Benitez's name emerged during the past few hours. It will all be decided once Los Blancos finish the season this Saturday against Getafe, in what would be Ancelotti's final game with the club.
