Luis Enrique is leading Barcelona to a treble in his first season as a manager. His predecesor, Gerardo Martino, left Barcelona empty handed.

Josep Maria Bartomeu is sad that Xavi is leaving but is also confident that Luis Enrique will continue as the manager for at least one more season. The boss of the Catalan club is happy with what the former player has made out of his first year in the hot seat of the club.

"I believe and know that he is staying. He has a contract and I believe that is also evident that the project started a year ago is good for the club," Bartomeu said.

It took some time for La Pulga and Lucho to get alongLuis Enrique and Messi

It is Bartomeu who seems to have a more uncertain future than Lucho. This summer, there will be elections to see if he stays as the general boss of the club or if he has to step aside. Bartomeu took over as president on January 23, 2014 when Sandro Rossell decided to step down voluntarily.

"When the season finishes, we will talk about the future. Between now and then we have elections; I'm not going to negotiate a renewal if I'm not re-elected".

Luis Enrique took the first step to show he is the right man for the job

Barcelona still has one La Liga game pending, along with two more finals. First they will play the Spanish Cup final against Athletic Bilbao at home and after that travel to Berlin for the Champions League final. Such a strong finish was not foreseen when they lost against Real Sociedad at the beginning of the year.

"Without Anoeta, I am sure we would not be in this situation, with the possibility of winning the treble," Bartomeu said. "We now find ourselves in an enviable situation".
