Los Blaugranas' economic VP revealed that the club could not match a big offer by some of football's big spenders, such as PSG or Chelsea.

Barcelona's loyal supporters could watch how their historic trio is torn apart. According to the team's economic VP Javier Faus, the club can no longer match the wages offered by other clubs such as Chelsea or PSG, and if any of those clubs came knocking on Barcelona's door with a big pile of cash, they could be able to snatch some of their top players away.

"We can no longer pay the most in terms of wages. 'That's now Chelsea and PSG. You have to understand that players in Spain always compare their net pay to those of the Premier League or the Bundesliga, who have pushed costs up dramatically," Faus stated in an interview.

So far, Messi, Suarez and Neymar have scored a whopping 116 goals between them, making them the most successful trio in the team's history. Although some clubs like Chelsea have shown interest in signing Messi, Barcelona's VP revealed they will do everything in their power to keep them playing together for a long time.

"The players have a very short career and are entitled to charge what other clubs can pay for their services. It will be a challenge but we want to avoid letting Messi, Neymar or Suarez go. But if a club has the potential to take them away because of their checkbook, then they will go," Faus concluded.

Barcelona could be crowned as La Liga's champion next Sunday if they can beat Atletico Madrid.
