Ancelotti has not been able to win La Liga is his two seasons as a manager. His contract does not expire until next year.

After an almost perfect 2014 where the only thing that Real Madrid did not win was La Liga, the team is about to close out the first half of 2015 in terrible form. Carlo Ancelotti still has one year left in his contract but the possibility that he continues as a manager is pretty slim.

The Italian coach had claimed that if it was for him to decide whether to stay or not, he would want to continue with Los Blancos. One by one, his players have come out and spoken about wanting their commander and chief to continue in his position for at least one more year.

The last player to speak on behalf of his teammates was Sergio Ramos. The Spanish international is in favor of having Ancelotti as a manager for a longer period of time. Ramos was one of the ones opposed to having Mourinho continue in charge of Madrid when the Special One was the manager.

Some fans want a former Madrid player to step up as the new head coach

"It's not up to us if Ancelotti stays although no one has spoken more highly of our manager than I have. But it isn't up to me."

Los Merengues have only lost three of the 25 games in UEFA competitions with Ancelotti as the manager. In La Liga, he has coached 75 games with a record of (55-8-11). The 55-year-old coach, who won the Champions League as a player with Inter, was fundamental in showing Madrid the path to their tenth UCL title.

Ramos considers Ancelotti as a great managerRamos has faith in the capability of Ancelotti as a manager

"If Real Madrid ruled Europe, part of the reason was Ancelotti," Ramos said. "The stats back him up. Other people have to weigh things up and draw conclusions."

Ancelotti will not be on the sidelines the rest of the season as he will serve a two-match ban for applauding the referee in the game against Valencia last weekend. His team will visit Espanyol and host Getafe to close the season, hoping for a miracle to take La Liga away from Barcelona.

There are reports circulating with his possible replacements

"The manager is a winner. This year we have not been able to win two titles, but I think that Ancelotti will stay on because he is a great manager," Marcelo added.
