Eric Cantona is certain that if it weren’t for Catalonia, Spain would have never won the World Cup. He does not think that the best player in the world plays in La Liga and he is not a fan of someone who controls football but hasn’t played it.
The French legend gave a press conference at the Laureus World Sports Awards. His answers may nothave been what many people are used to hearing, but speaking his mind is something Cantona can do as well as he can play soccer.
“Catalonia won the World Cup. Spain won it with ten Barcelona players in the team. Spain did not win the World Cup.”

The former French striker never played in Spain, but has a lot of respect for Barcelona as a team. He believes the success of Los Cules lies in the great academy they have developed. Their success can help Spain rise again.
“Nobody can beat them, because they play together since they are 14 years old,” Cantona said at the press conference.
Even if Lionel Messi plays for Barcelona, he does not believe La Pulga is the best player. He does not support Ronaldo either. It is Paris Saint Germain’s Pastore who he roots for as the most exciting player in the world.
