If Manchester City wants to be on the top of the Premier League once again, Manuel Pellegrini believes the solution can be in the upcoming transfer market period. The Chilean manager wants his club to spend big money on big players.

“You see Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich – all the big clubs – they all do it. It is important to have big names,” Pellergini said.

He did not give out names about which players he may want. Right now, his focus is on getting the best out of the players he has in his roster.

“It is very important the way we finish this season before we analyze all the players,” the Engineer mentioned

Manchester City is the reigning champion of the Premier League. They are currently in fourth place with 61 points, nine behind Chelsea, which leads the standings. They were recently knocked out of the UCL by Barcelona.

The Citizens have a chance to climb into second place with a win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. That spot currently belongs to Arsenal with 63 points and is followed by Manchester United with 62.

Pellegrini is still not giving up on the idea of catching Chelsea. He knows they must be perfect to do so and believe in themselves to accomplish the feat.

“I think that when you have a mathematical chance to win it, you must always think you can do it,” the 61-year-old manager said.
