The Portuguese manager blasted his team's critics during the buildup to their weekend's match against Southampton.

After their Champions League fiasco against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea's boss Jose Mourinho stepped up to take a swing at the team's critics, who blasted his players for forcing Bjorn Kuipers' hand to send off Zlatan Ibrahimovic last Wednesday. The Portuguese manager was annoyed by ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher's comments about Mourinho's teams, who usually add pressure to referees in order to take advantage of such situations.

"Jamie stopped two years ago and in two years ago he has forgotten everything. Mr Souness had stopped playing for a long time and he has done that. I was at Benfica a couple of years after him, so I know a lot about him. I prefer to laugh, and I prefer to say that they envy is the biggest tribute to us from people in the shadows," Mou stated.

Visibly upset, Mourinho still believes his team should be the one lifting the Premier League title despite his club's mishap against PSG. The Portuguese tactician believes that their loss to the French champions will motivate his team even more to win their domestic tournament.

"My players don't do things like some journalists do, when they write bulls*** about the team and never come back to the press conferences. My players want to play on Sunday. We are the same people that have led the Premier League since day one, and we are the same people that were pointed out as a candidate to win the Champions League, we are still the same team. We cannot promise we will win every game, but we are optmistic about our chances," the Portuguese boss added.
