Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta expects the Old Lady to welcome more players before the 2010 summer transfer window closes next week. The administrator underlined Juventus’ need to acquire a defender and a midfielder in the next few days.

Juventus playersAlready, Alberto Aquilani is set to complete his transfer from Liverpool to Juventus. According to the media, the 26-year-old player underwent medical tests in Turin on Monday as his one-year loan deal with the Italian outfit nears completion.

It is believed that Liverpool opened the exit door to Aquilani, who will receive €3.3m this season, for a fee of €16m. Juventus will also have the option to sign a permanent deal with the injury-prone midfielder.

Other agreements between Juventus and Liverpool could be reached soon. Speculations indicate that defender Kyrgiakos could leave the Merseyside Reds for Turin since the English possess quite a number of defensive players such as Agger, Skrtel, and Carragher.

Meanwhile, Emiliano Insua is also rumored to be on his way to the Seria A side whereas David Trezeguet’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, attempted to clarify things upon the French player’s future as he stated:

“It’s true that Liverpool are interested [in Trezeguet] but they aren’t the only team. Zaragoza and Hercules are also interested in him. We are evaluating and, after a day of reflection, we will consider what action to take.”
