At least one person is not angry about seeing Cristiano Ronaldo have a party after losing to Atletico Madrid. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is that person.
Ronaldo was not celebrating being defeated by Diego Simeone and his team, the reason for his celebration was his 30th birthday. Something he was not willing to cancel despite what had just happened hours earlier.
“He could not postpone his birthday party because all his family and friends had already come to Madrid,” Mendes said in an interview with Cadena SER.

After completing a two-game suspension, Ronaldo was finally able to play in the Madrilène derby. Madrid had to face the game without starters such as James Rodriguez, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.
“He is very upset about the images from his birthday that have come out. It was meant to be a private celebration,” Ronaldo’s agent said.

Mendes believe that fans should be less critical of the leading scorer in La Liga. He believes that the athlete with the most Facebook likes (CR7), should also deserve some privacy. In his words, it is not easy being Cristiano Ronaldo.
